Changing US..

Technology has taken a dominant post in our today's 21st century. It is now governing the way in which we communicate as individuals. Slowly, the art of personal, face-to-face communication is wilting as technology communication shoots and blooms into the form that many are relying upon. For instance the youth. Technology has taken the best of their growth. With these new gadgets, iPad and ipods and the social media that has taken them by storm, life for them has never been any better. I remember when I grew up, we went outside to play, we had mind games and books. Items such as computers and cellphones were not toys till we were exposed to them by our parents or during computer lessons at school. This meant that we had time to personally communicate and create bonds, we had time to visit each other as friends and maintain relationships. We were able to listen and give help were needed. However, the children of today. Growing up for them is done through technology. Chat platforms such as Whatsapp, twitter, mixit and nimbuzz to mention but a few have generated a lifestyle via the phone. Now friends hardly ever visit or are visited, if they go out, they are mostly focused on their phones than on their friends. At the end of the day parents ask " how is your friend Jeff?" we respond by "they are okay" or are they?. They way technology has just replaced communication among the youth has not just assisted in destroying friendships and relationships, but it has also added to the writing communication done by students. A topic on PR news online grabbed my attention as it noted how social media is affecting the Public relations industry in their writing, considering it is their backbone. http://www.prnewsonline.com The article goes on to note the unnecessary grammatical errors done in writing such as "it's" and "its", "receipt" and "reciept" "who" and "whom", all are being misused. this in turn does not give the individual a good post and gives a bad reputation to the company. It is therefore of great need to read more, ask more and write more, is what I would recommend. This could in fact improve our writing ad enhance our innovative self. We can use social media platforms, but let us not allow it to control the rest of our being. Already we are fighting to save the world and ourselves by living according to its rules and regulations, governed by those in control and most of all mother nature. As for this technology (social media) that we are able to control the, only war for us to fight for is to be ourselves, because everyone else is taken.

FAVOURED: There is no substitute for hard work.

FAVOURED: There is no substitute for hard work.

There is no substitute for hard work.

If one could buy their way to success, many of us would have gone for it, if there was a potion, or drug that could be taken to reach the top, we would be buying in bulk. Though the unfortunate part of this fantacy is there isn't. Learning and Studying are two different aspects that one aquires during their life time.. According to Douglas Fisher and Nancy Frey, learning is the process of aquiring knowledge or skill through study, experience or teaching, were as studying is working towards grasping that which you have been taught and perhaps putting it into practice. Many individuals do not understand the two concepts and thus success becomes a challenge. We have and still are struggling to reach that point of self-actualization because we are not putting our learning and studying skills into practice. For you to succeed, do what you love doing, there is no better joy, than to wake up fully geared up with pleasure and passion of what you are doing. Find that which you love and believe in yourself, failure will not be an option. Try this simple exercise, think for a quote that inspires you, it could be from a teacher, speaker, writter, poet or even the bible. Learn it word by word, if you are able to memorise it, the better. Then study it, study its meaning, how it implies to you and you life. Undersatnd why the quote was developed. Eventually, after this, you will understand the drive behind the quotes that are given to us in our everyday life. you would have learnt and studied and wisdomand understanding would have been achieved, thus being SUCCESS. "There is no elevator to SUCCESS.. you might have to take the STAIRS!!"
